Our Grocery Shopping List

Aaron and I recently moved and we are lucky to have a lot of different options for grocery shopping. We like to mix it up between Whole Foods, Fairway Market and Trader Joe’s when we are near one. (Trader Joe’s, please open on the Upper East Side!)

I know that Whole Foods can get expensive, so we try our best to look for the sales when we’re shopping there. For example, just this week organic apples were all 25% off, so we stocked up on some gala and red delicious (my favorite!). Whole Foods also recently was bought by Amazon, so we absolutely take advantage of the discounts they have for prime members, as well as look for other coupons and sales on the Whole Foods App. Another way to save money is buying the bulk items. There are so many times where a recipe has called for a certain amount of a random type of nut and I make the mistake of buying an entire bag. I don’t end up using the whole thing and it’s a total waste of money. I’ve learned to go to the bulk section, measure out what I need and use the fun machine to print a sticker!

I get a lot of questions from you as to what I actually buy at the grocery store. It varies from week to week, but I wanted to share with you our typical grocery list. We don’t always buy every single one of these items specifically from Whole Foods. It depends on how much time we have that week, what we are closest to, etc. But this is what a typical shopping list looks like for us!
